A couple of days ago we turned the new computer on only to have it freeze while 'checking NVRAM'. I searched on the internet and found that this was solvable, but required removing the motherboard battery and also flipping switches or something. So, that was it. A good, solid, third issue with this machine. Too much. Systemax would send me a new one, and renew the 1 year warranty, but wouldn't restart the 30 return policy, so I said no. I am returning it for a refund.
I also changed courses on the operating system. Rather than trying to find a machine with a Windows 7 32-bit OS, I decided to stick with Vista (which I know will run Media Center, since I have a TV tuner card, and other older applications and hardware that we have). I also decided to buy a new hard drive and see if I can restage the PC that is failing.
What a pain.
